Information for the next Phi Tau Phi - West America Chapter Meeting will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

The 2018 Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Society West American Chapter Meeting was held on April 21, 2018 in the Empress Harbor Seafood Restaurant in Monterey Park, California.  Close to thirty Phi Tau Phi West America Chapter members attended, including several new inductees.  The newly elected West America Chapter President, Professor Ellis Meng from USC, was the main organizer of this year's annual meeting with support from Professors Tu-nan Chang from USC, Jason Cong  (past president) from UCLA and  Tom Hou from Caltech. We also presented scholarships to the following recipients: 

  • Peipei Zhou (University of California, Los Angeles) 
  • De Huang (Caltech) 
  • Celia Zhang (Caltech) 
  • Siteng Fan (Caltech) 
  • Mandong Liu (University of Southern California) 

The scholarship committee consisted of Prof. Tom Hou (Chair) from Caltech, Prof. Yuk Yung (Caltech), Prof. Eric P. Y. Chiou (UCLA), Prof. Richard Ruqian Wu (UC Irvine), and Prof. Iris Chi (USC). 

The Phi Tau Phi members and scholarship recipients who participated in the event all heard introductions from each attendee including a presentation about themselves and their research interests.  Many past Phi Tau Phi officers were in attendance and shared their past experiences.
